- A Creole Lady and the Dominican Flag – Cakes displayed at Market Day with a Difference. 2nd prize winner.
Classique’s grand re-opening was a “BLAST.” We completed the new deck which was a welcome sight to our many guests who came from around the island to join in the fun….. fun in the real sense. A beautiful moon lit night added to the ambiance of the newly built deck and refurbished surroundings. The colorful array of flowers and lovely Creole decorations, all complimented Classique’s unique venue.
I am most proud and relieved to boast of the peaceful and festive evening we all enjoyed. As you can see from the photos, people were just in a party mood and we …… PARTIED HARD….. I mean we really partied long and hard through out the beautiful evening. The big bad sound of our own Club DVD, featuring DJ Mixer (my favorite DJ), kept the evening electrified from beginning to end. Our own house DJs, DJ Chris and DJ Red Vest were afforded the opportunity to do the opening act, which was fast, furious and exciting. Marigot’s popular Lapo Cabrit band, the one and only “Sugar Fyah, joined in the fun by starting the j’ouvet morning right here at Classique International. What an exciting evening!
For those of you who missed out on our grand re-opening celebration, Classique will be opened all week to allow you to visit and enjoy our new and spacious deck. Admission is free for those of you who are in the party mood, especially after leaving “Creole in the Park”, but looking for somewhere to end the evening.
I am also proud to let you know that my cakes won second prize during the Market Day with a difference competition, at the Fisheries complex on the bay. Pictures of both cakes “A Creole Lady” and “The Dominican Flag” are also posted for viewing. Both cakes are being raffled at a price of $5.00 a chance. Extremely delicious fruit cake, which can be kept for the next few months, because they are properly preserved with wine and rum. However, you must be fore warned…. cutting the cakes might be the most difficult challenge of all…. they are so pretty, that you might ask yourself, which area should I begin cutting the cake? I can assure you… once you have decided when, where, and how to cut the cakes, you’ll have no problem devouring them, because the longer they are kept, the more deliciously tasting they’ll become.
One thing I have observed, West Indians “LOVE” their fruitcakes and I “ENJOY” making fruitcakes. You are encouraged to place your Christmas cake orders now. We’ll have your Christmas fruitcakes baked, packaged and ready to go. Cakes can be sold plain or decorated depending on your preference.
