Carnival 2011 Princess Show

These were the contestants of the Marigot Princess show which was held on Saturday, February 27th, by executives of the Wills Stevens School. Miss Blanford who stunned the crowd with her rendition of ole mass, was crowned the 2011 princess, while Miss Edwards, the vibrantly clad, African dancing princess, was awarded first runner up.

A great show considering the short preparation time and low budget with which teachers worked. Congratulations to teacher Vena and others who worked so diligently to see this to fruition. Several teachers were also sponsors of contestants, a very considerate act which shows the true dedication of our teachers. Susan and her assistants must also be complimented for their efforts. Because of their professionalism, expertise and patient, all the girls looked very glamorous. Surprisingly, but appreciatively, all the girls performed extremely well, surpassing expectations by their teachers, sponsors and trainers.

After a lot of hard work by the organizers, it was rewarding to have a full house. Attendees left the show feeling very satisfied with the evening’s performances and judge’s decisions. Earlier preparations for the 2012 princess show are already being discussed in an effort to better select and train future contestants.
