Zisker,
A very Happy New Year to you my friend. It was quite a treat receiving a comment from you after such a long time. Positive comments make me realize that people do care about what happens in Marigot and Dominica as a whole.
I look forward to returning to Dominica where I will host the benefit affair to help the people of Haiti. Other charitable affairs are being held around Dominica, but I feel strongly that it is important for Classiqué to host an affair in Marigot. Many of the Haitians started off in Marigot and some are currently living and working there. Although the immediate need is financial, food, shelter, medical and so forth, we need to remember the Haitians in our prayers as they live through this most difficult time of death, destruction and despair. You are right, this is a time when we all need to come together and generously support the cause knowing that our contributions, regardless of the size, could determine whether someone lives or dies.
I hope to see you in Dominica sometime this year. Keep the comments coming,
]]>What a disaster! It is so difficult to understand that such a disaster could have struck a country that was literally down, by all counts. I certainly hope that some good will rise from the ashes. It is very important that we all pull together to do our part regardless of the size or power of our efforts. Is this a wake-up call to have us become more conscious about global warming? Because, as we are experiencing, this winter weather is also very unusual worldwide.
]]>Most of us can only imagine the pain and suffering the haitian people are experincing at this time. It could so easily have been any of our caribbean countries.
I know the haitians are a very resilient people, and it is that resilience that will enable them to get through this crisis, with the help of the global community.
It is everyone’s duty as caring human beings to do whatever we can to help. “TOGETHER WE ARE STRONG”.
